There is no fear of using bold colors, vibrant graphics and whimsical accessories! The bonus is getting to work with an enthusiastic, little collaborator on the project!

  • Light Up Your Room - Part 3

While the use of crystals in lighting is nothing new, we were amazed at how creative lighting designers have become with the sparkle and shimmer! In some showrooms, it looked like it was raining opulence!

  • Light Up Your Room - Part 2

Inspiration can come from many sources but nature has long been a go to for Interior Designers. We see freeform lines in furniture, accessories and lighting that may have been sparked by an organic element! Organic shapes have the ability to draw you in since they are so unique.

  • Light Up Your Room!

Lamps can provide the ambient lighting that we all love, but as designers, we think lamps can do so much more! They can add texture, pattern, whimsy, sparkle or an organic element into the space! They can be like a sculptural piece of art, because when you think about it, most of the day they go unlit, so why not incorporate them into the design! We will explore some fabulous lamps in the upcoming weeks!

  • Neutrals With a Twist - Part 2

This week we will continue to look at neutrals in a whole new way! Great design can elicit a variety of feelings.  The exciting thing about neutrals is that you can create different moods depending on the warmth or coolness of the "colorless colors" you bring into a room!

  • Neutrals With a Twist - Part One

Neutrals are making a comeback as people are taking a break from bold, bright colors. Beige has been given a bad rap as boring and safe but we can show you how to revamp colorless design in fresh, new ways!  We can create stunning looks with neutrals by layering materials, playing with textures and adding shapes to a space!

Outdoor living areas have become more popular than ever as manufacturers are designing more durable products and designers are space planning beautiful designs for the outdoors from the very beginning of the home building process.

As designers, we really appreciate when a great deal of thought is put into designing a piece of furniture. It has to look good from all angles! When a chair has that extra attention to detail it really stands out!

  • Mad About Plaid!

As the weather cools and the leaves change colors (or if you live in Houston, the pine needles fall) we are drawn to cozier fabrics, and nothing says fall like plaid! This traditional pattern is transitioning straight from the runways into home décor!

  • A New Way to Tuft!

We are back from High Point Market and eager to share the latest and greatest! Channel style quilted furniture certainly caught our eye this October! It is a blend of modern, clean lines but a little puffy and inviting at the same time!

  • Art Icebreakers

Chairs pose a design challenge because they need to combine form, function and be aesthetically beautiful!

  • Spotlight on Design - Wall Covering!

This month's "Spotlight on Design" features another one of our talented and creative designers, Ashton Morgan, and a sampling of her beautiful designs! • Crushing on Velvet

Just what is it about velvet that makes it so appealing?!  Maybe it’s the rich colors, the luxurious feel, the sumptuous look, or all of the above and then some! Velvet has been around for thousands of years but its allure has not faded!

  • Mirrors - Reflecting on Design

One of the best ways to visually expand a space is to add a mirror! Mirrors can add depth and dimension to a space as well as adding brightness and luminosity. With the correct placement of mirrors, you can reflect and emphasize a gorgeous design!

  • Powder Bathrooms - The Jewelry Box of the Home!

Powder baths can be transformed into the ultimate accessory rooms, like the jewelry box of a home! These half bathrooms are so much fun to design because you can really let your creativity flow freely and take some risks.  Because of their small size, you can try intense colors, unusual materials or use dramatic features without fear!

  • Acrylic Asending Once Again

We love luminous, sparkling things like crystal and glass, but acrylic has the added benefit of not breaking, chipping or shattering! Although acrylic furniture gives a space a weightless, light and airy feel, it is actually quite strong and heavy!

  • Hardware as Jewelry

Furniture hardware can be thought of like jewelry that you wear to polish off an outfit! Sometimes you go for the big, bold statement necklace, other times you wear a classic piece that is subtle and refined. The same goes for hardware on furniture; it can change the entire look of a piece!
