After a long week of designing beautiful interiors, it's finally the weekend!
Saturdays are Jessica's time to decompress, rest, and recharge her batteries after a packed week of client meetings, design presentations, and taking care of her 2 very active kids!

Follow along with interior designer, Jessica Salinas, and get to know her a littler better as she shares a glimpse into her perfect weekend wind-down.
"Work hard, chill hard. I love my weekends!"
I am a mom of two kids, Cecilia, age 7 and Conrad, age 12, and we are always on the go! They each have busy schedules with school and several other extracurricular activities that are juggled around my workweek and design meetings. By the time Friday comes around...we are ready ALL for a rest day.
So, who's ready for a chill weekend?!
This Momma, that's who!
Let's get in to it!

First Things First: Rise & Give Thanks!
I am a firm believer in beginning your day with a good, positive mindset! For me, that is by starting my day in morning prayer. My family and I always begin our day with a moment of prayer and thanksgiving for each other and all that God has provided for us.
Then, we start our day! Which means, I make my coffee and get to work on breakfast.

Here's whats on the menu:
Homemade Breakfast Tacos!
It's Saturday staple in our household. Every weekend I cook up some breakfast tacos for my family. Our favorite combo is potatoes, egg, and cheese with either bacon or chorizo; depending on what sounds best! It is ALL homemade...well, apart from the tortillas.
I source those from my beloved, HEB. I love their Mi Tienda 'ready-to-cook' Flour Tortillas. They are the best store-bought tortillas around, trust me!
On to the Afternoon:
After we wrap up breakfast, it's time for the dreaded afternoon chores...these are unavoidable, unfortunately. :/
I get the laundry done and clean up around the house before we head over to my in-law's house for lunch and swimming!

Around 12:30pm, or so we head to Grandma & Papo's house to swim and enjoy family time. My husband and I are both very close to our families and love to be in their company. We try to stop by for lunch during the weekend to catch up and let our kids play in their pool; especially in the Summertime.

Next up: Nap time
Yes, for me. I am a napper! Even just for 30 minutes, if I can get a little shut eye, it helps me get through the rest of the day. I am always joined by my napping partners: Boogie & Chandler.
To wrap up my perfect day: Family Dinner Out!
There is NO cooking for this mamma on Saturday. My family and I enjoy dinner out, with some much deserved adult beverages, at one of our favorite local restaurants.
We'll either go to El Toro's Mexican Restaurant or Shogun Japanese Grill & Sushi Bar for dinner. These spots are a win-win for the whole family. My kids love the food options, and I love their drinks. I will get a Sangria at El Toro, or if Shogun is the move, it's either a Hot Sake or a Kirin Ichiban Beer.
That's it, my perfect day! Filled with family, rest, and good food...What's better than that!?
It's my time to recharge and be fully present with my family.
It's About Balance: Like they say,"work hard, rest hard."
I love being a mom and an interior designer, they are both so important! My weeks can get hectic between my kid's schedules and work, which makes my weekends sacred to me. Thus, having a weekend 'detox' really allows me to be at my BEST for my kids, husband, and amazing clients!
We hope you enjoyed this look into Jessica's ideal weekend!
Let this be a little reminder: To take a moment to rest, take a break, or do a weekend 'detox' away from your busy schedules. It does wonders for your mental wellness and increases productivity for the following week. A well-rested mind, is a productive mind!
Until next time!
