Trim – It’s the Little Things That Can Make A Big Difference

What takes a pillow, a window treatment or a piece of furniture from good to extraordinary? Sometimes, it is the little things! Trim can have a remarkable impact on the overall design of a space.  You can walk into a room and sense that a lot of thought and experienced skill went into creating the space because of the attention to detail.

We are fortunate to have a great deal of fabulous trim at our fingertips in the studio!  These trims range from fun and flirty to elegant and sophisticated to take your design to the next level.  Trim takes all forms, from subtle to bold, and comes in endless colors and styles.  This design detail adds a custom touch to ensure you will end up with a gorgeous, one of a kind look!

Ball fringe can add a touch of whimsy to a pillow while glass beaded fringe can enhance an elegant drapery panel.

Decorative cords can take the place of welting and add texture, color and contrast to a pillow or sham.  Brush fringe can add volume and texture and really give the room some personality!

Another interesting design detail is decorative tape. This versatile trim can be used on the leading edge of a drapery panel, on the bottom of a sofa or upholstered chair or on a pillow.

Setting the tape back a couple of inches from the pillow or sham adds creative interest and enhances the design.

Placing the decorative tape on the edge or center of the pillow is another creative idea to achieve a designer look.

Tassel fringe can be an elegant or dramatic embellishment used in traditional or transitional spaces. Tiebacks can polish off a window treatment and pull the look together.

Buttons are a fun way to give pillows some character!  Your eye is immediately drawn to this interesting detail.
